Network
It very simple to understand . I give you an example in a simple language . Everybody has a network but we don't know . Only we know that when a mobile receive a range it's a network that's not right information . Mobile receive only a signals or radio frequency but We talk about Network . OK, I can explain you think you are a person and you have many friends, neighbors and relatives. We have a connection between each other. We can talk everyone and do many think means we are connected and That's our network . Same as in computer language when some computer devices (Laptop, Mobile, Printer, other Device) are connected each other he creates a network. That's a Network. Network divided into small, small parts. That's parts means network types basically when we create a small network it's use own name as per as we increase network volume we need another network name so there are 11 types of network in computer technology.
1. Personal Area Network (PAN)
2. Local Area Network(LAN)
3. Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN)
4. Campus Area Network(CAN)
5. Metropolitan Area Network(MAN)
6. Wide Area Network(WAN)
7. Storage Area Network(SAN)
8. System Area Network(Also know as SAN)
9. Passive Optical Local Area Network(POLAN)
10. Enterprise Private Network(EPN)
11.Virtual Private Network(VPN)
1. Personal Area Network (PAN)
This is the smallest network which are manage by a wireless modem . Everybody knows about Bluetooth, and Wifi . These are the example of a PAN . When a laptop, mobile and a printer connect in a house that's means they are use a Personal Area Network. These types of networks are typically found in small offices or
residences, and are managed by one person or organization from a single
device.As PAN provides a network range within a person's range typically within a range of 10 meters(33 feet) .
2. Local Area Network(LAN)
A local area network is a
computer network that interconnects computers within a limited area such as a
residence, school, laboratory, university campus or office building.PC’s, laptops and workstations
in an office are generally inter-connected with each other by using LAN
networks through which we can share data files, software, e-mail and access
hardware such as printers, FAX etc. All the resources or host are connected via
a single cable in LAN.
- LAN networks come out to be cost-effective and time-saving, as we can share various resources on one platform. However, the initial installation cost of the network is very high.
- It is having a geographical area limitation and can only cover a small area (1-5 km).
